About Dr. Andrea Toppin.png

Dr. Andrea Toppin was born and raised in Clear Lake, IA, where she grew up as a multi-sport athlete in a small-town setting. However, running quickly became her true passion. In high school, she earned All-State honors in cross country and track and became a state champion in the 1500m and 3000m. She then continued her athletic career at Iowa State University, where she was a key contributor to multiple Big 12 Cross Country team titles and NCAA championship appearances. Her love for the sport extended beyond college, and during her second year of chiropractic school, she qualified for and competed in the 2020 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. Today, she continues to train and compete as an elite marathoner for Oiselle, channeling her lifelong passion for running into her profession.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Iowa State, Dr. Andrea moved to Minneapolis, MN, to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Northwestern Health Sciences University, graduating in December 2020 with a Sports Medicine Emphasis. While in school, she was actively involved in the ACA Sports Council and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), shaping her expertise in sports medicine, women’s health, prenatal and postpartum care, and pediatrics.

Dr. Andrea’s journey into chiropractic care was deeply personal. As a Division I distance runner, she faced numerous injuries, internal health struggles, and disordered eating—challenges that nearly ended her running career. It was the guidance and care of a chiropractor and physical therapist that helped her not only heal physically but also regain her confidence and strength. Their impact inspired her to follow the same path, with a mission to help others overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.

Now, as a chiropractor specializing in prenatal, postpartum, pediatric, and sports medicine, Dr. Andrea is dedicated to empowering women and athletes through movement, rehabilitation, and holistic care. She understands firsthand the resilience required to navigate injury and recovery, making her an empathetic and knowledgeable resource for her patients.

Outside of work, it’s no surprise that you’ll find Dr. Andrea logging miles on Boulder’s scenic roads or tackling challenging inclines on the trails. She primarily trains for U.S. Championship road races and marathons but enjoys mixing in trail and track races. Beyond running, she loves spending time with her friends and family, hiking in the mountains, skiing, and camping—embracing an active lifestyle that fuels both her personal and professional passions.
